Annual Conference for Breast Cancer Patients and Survivors Opens RegistrationThe Breast Cancer Site
It's important for breast cancer patients to have a support system. When people who love you help you in any way possible, it's easier to find joy and peace during your treatment. Of course, it also helps to hear the stories of other women dealing with the same things you are. Living Beyond Breast Cancer (LBBC) recognizes that and is devoted to being a resource for patients and their families. The Annual Conference for Women Living with Metastatic Breast Cancer is one way LBBC helps women.
Scheduled for April 26-27 in West Conshohocken, Pa., the conference will feature lectures, workshops, networking events, exhibitors, and health and wellness activities (such as yoga classes). Attendees will hear about research breakthroughs from industry leaders and find support in the other women who attend.
Those interested in going to the conference can register online. LBBC offers a limited number of travel grants and fee waivers for those families who need financial assistance.
Metastatic breast cancer is a term given when the disease spreads to other parts of the body. When a breast cancer patient's disease becomes metastatic, it typically moves to the brain, bones, lungs and liver.
While the conference is named and geared toward women living with metastatic breast cancer, anyone can attend. Whether you're a caregiver, survivor, family member or patient, you'll be welcome at the conference.
