Ever Wonder How Breast Forms Are Made? Take a LookElizabeth Nelson
Amoena’s breast forms are made by women and for women, with special care and attention to detail. The breast forms in the Amoena Cosmetic Collection are some of the softest and lightest in existence, and they feel very realistic.
Have you ever wondered how breast forms are made? Then you’re in for a real treat, because Amoena is about to take us for a sneak peek inside the factory where they make their breast forms.
The video below details the process of creating a breast prosthesis from beginning to end. It starts with a silicone liquid with a pudding-like consistency, which is distributed and cured in layers in a mold. This creates a natural look and feel to the outside of the form.
Once it’s done in the oven, a lightweight layer is added to the inside of the form so that it’s not as heavy as most breast forms and feels more naturally malleable and soft.
The air is suctioned out of the form, and then it’s cured again in a mold to hold it in place so it won’t change shape.
Skilled workers trim the edges of the forms so nothing will poke the wearer and the size and shape of the prosthesis’s “footprint” will be just right.
Then the form goes through a careful quality inspection process, after which it will be gently boxed and shipped off to its destination.
