Woman's bridesmaids dress helps her learn she has breast cancer.

Felicity Hallett, a women living in the United Kingdom, credits a bridesmaid dress for saving her life. According to The Daily Mirror, the 37-year-old woman was adjusting the bodice of her dress while taking pictures at her best friend's wedding when she found a lump the size of a golf ball in her armpit.

"I normally wear loose fitting clothes so I felt the lump for the first time when I was wearing something snug," Hallett told the source.

Hallett is a mother and student teacher living in Stoke Gifford, Bristol. She is scheduled to undergo surgery in mid March after wrapping up six weeks of chemotherapy treatment. The experience has inspired her to encourage women to examine themselves better. In turn, she has taken part in a photo shoot for Macmillan Cancer Support. Macmillan is a cancer care and support charity. Hallett is fundraising for the organization and, to date, has raised 69 percent of her goal.

One in eight women will develop breast cancer in their lifetime. Perform self breast exams to protect yourself and encourage women in your social network to do the same.
