A jewelry store in Connecticut will hold a fundraiser for breast cancer throughout the month of August.

The staff members of a jewelry store in Mystic, Connecticut, have taken it upon themselves to fundraise for the breast cancer community. Simply Majestic, located at 59 Williams Avenue, will be holding a month-long event in August to benefit breast cancer patients and researchers through donations given to the Terri Brodeur Breast Cancer Foundation.

Simply Majestic, which is owned by Susette Tibus and Chuck Sneddon and managed by Jennifer Vincent, recently had the disease hit close to home. In April of 2014, Susette Tibus was diagnosed with breast cancer. Tibus has had to spend several months away from the store recovering from treatment. However, she indicated to The Day Connecticut that the experience of undergoing treatment has only made her realize how valuable the experience of giving back can be.

"I have been overwhelmed by the love and support that I have received from this community since my diagnosis and now through my recovery," Tibus told the source. "I wanted to do something to give back."

The month-long campaign, which will be called "Tickled Pink," will feature an exclusive kick-off party held at Simply Majestic on August 7, 2014. Proceeds from the event and related sales over the month will go to the Terri Brodeur Breast Cancer Foundation, which is based in New London, Connecticut, and sponsors awareness events throughout the area.
