Terminal Costco Employee Receives a Heartfelt Gift from CustomersThe Breast Cancer Site
For beloved Costco employee Arlie Smith, a diagnosis of terminal bone cancer wasn’t reason enough to slow down. The Danville, California man, who’s been living with MS for two years, continues to spread joy and optimism every day at his job, inspiring customers to go out and live–and, as it turns out, give.
A group known as “Arlie’s Angels” raised $2,500 in donations and gave the cash to Smith and his wife for a much-needed vacation. Touched by the generous act, Smith is now paying the generosity forward and raising money through a store-wide effort to benefit the Oakland Children’s Hospital. Amazing!
