Dancing Through Chemo: One Woman’s Way To Stay Positive Against Breast Cancer

In her 20s, Lisa Canon was a young and upcoming photographer with her own graphic design business when she was diagnosed with stage III breast cancer. With treatment, Lisa managed to beat the cancer into remission.

However, two years later she learned her cancer had flared back and had spread to her spine and liver — leading to a stage IV cancer diagnosis. She wasn’t even 30 yet.

But that hasn’t stopped Lisa! She is fighting back again through chemotherapy, refusing to be cowed by cancer and maintaining an upbeat outlook towards life. She writes a blog called “Lisa’s Fight” and regularly posts funky dance videos with her husband and daughter on her YouTube channel.

Her message to cancer, “You have no power over me,” is an inspiration for all who face this disease to keep going.

Check out this video of her dancing to “Safety Dance” by Men Without Hats. Her spunk and smile will inspire any survivor to keep fighting and keep dancing!
