These Seven Sisters Were Diagnosed With Breast Cancer — But Doctors Can’t Explain Why

Seven out of seven sisters have been diagnosed with breast cancer with little to no explanation for why.

The sisters say that they would love to find answers, but don't know if it will happen. Not finding a genetic mutation, doctors thus far have been unable to explain the phenomenon. One doctor, who treated six of the seven sisters, has explored other possibilities for the phenomenon, including that of a virus having affected the sisters.

The sisters hope that by bringing more awareness to their situation, they may find and relate to others in the same boat and encourage more research to be done on the phenomenon. Watch as WCVB talks to the sisters about their diagnoses and the support that they have received from one another as they take turns battling the disease, then learn more here.
