Dove’s Real Beauty Campaign Asks Women An Important Question Without Saying A Word

Dove has a history of empowering women to redefine beauty and question society’s standards with their creative Real Beauty campaign. From the powerful video of Real Beauty Sketches to a photo gallery of Selfies, we are challenged to take control of the conversation, and be proud of the skin we’re in.

The next installment of the Dove Real Beauty campaign goes a step further, by inspiring us to choose beauty in everyday life. Sure, you feel beautiful when you get dressed up for a date or some other fancy event. But do you feel beautiful when you go to the supermarket? The bus stop? The bank?

Dove wants women everywhere to feel beautiful all the time, not just when they feel like they’re dressed the part. And we happen to agree with them!

As you’ll see in the video below, Dove set up signs on side by side doors in 5 cities across the world, (Shanghai, San Francisco, London, Sao Paulo and Delhi). One sign said “Beautiful” and the other said “Average.” Watch these women come to terms with how they see themselves, and how this social experiment changed what they see in the mirror every morning.
