Nurses raise money for breast cancer patient.

Coworkers spend so much time together they often form a family-like bond. This was the case with a group of emergency room nurses in London, Ky. According to WYMT Mountain News, fellow registered nurse Cindy Angle was diagnosed with breast cancer in November of 2013. The group rallied behind her to show their support.

Angle has been with the hospital for many years and is known by many members of the community.

Connie Cope, a registered nurse, told the source how much Angle was was part of their close knit group and how the diagnosis affected everyone. “This is really hard on all of us because it’s just like our family,” she said.

In response to her diagnosis, several nurses began organizing the 5K for Angle in an effort to raise money for her medical bills. The race will take place at the London Elementary school on March 22.

There are a variety of ways to fundraise for breast cancer organizations. The National Breast Cancer Foundation has an online platform to create a webpage to sell items or ask for donations. Additionally, you can host your own ticketed event like a concert or a benefit.
