Forget Dancing With The Stars…This Swing Dance From The 40’s Is Incredible!

Have you ever heard of the Lindy Hop before? If not, you’re in for quite the treat! This dance that originated from Harlem in the 1920s became very popular during the Swing era of the late 30s and early 40s; and we can find no better example of it than this scene from the 1941 movie, “Hellzapoppin.” Just look at the passion, the skill, and the excitement in these routines…it’s magnificent!

“Hellzapoppin,” came out in 1941, and stars Ole Olsen, Chic Johnson, and Shemp Howard. The film was actually adapted from a musical of the same name.
