Teddy Bridgewater, former Louisville Cardinals quarterback and current Vikings quarterback, is making good on the promise he made when he was nine years old. When the NFL hopeful was in the 3rd grade, his mother, Rose, was battling breast cancer. As they were driving home from little league practice one day, he promised her that he’d get her a pink Cadillac Escalade when he became a professional football player.

Bridgewater admits that, at the time, he said he’d buy her a pink car because “pink is a color that any woman would like.” Now that she’s a breast cancer survivor, the color symbolizes more.

Hear more from this amazing family in “Teddy Bridgewater: A Promise to Rose”, directed by Spike Lee.
