Poker Tournament Raises Money for Breast Cancer Organization

A Las Vegas poker tournament raised money for a breast cancer organization.

TrackResults Business Intelligence hosted the "Go All In To Help Cancer Survivors Win" Invitational Poker Tournament in Las Vegas on April 5. Players and supporters who numbered over 130 gathered at the South Point Hotel, Casino and Spa. The tournament had about 100 buy ins, which translated to $40,000. The money was then donated to Send Me on Vacation, an organization that sends breast cancer survivors on retreats to help heal their minds, bodies and souls.

According to PR Web, Hildy Rogers, the player who took second place, donated her winnings to SMOV rather than keeping any money to herself. TrackResults is one of several regular sponsors of the organization, hosting events such as the poker tournament regularly.

"We want to thank our sponsors for all of the support they have given us for this event," Cathy Backus, president of SMOV, told the source. "We sincerely appreciate everyone coming out to the poker tournament and playing a part in achieving our goals of sending these women on the vacations that they need and deserve."

Poker players also had a chance to win prizes including electronics, Las Vegas show tickets, sports memorabilia, dinner vouchers and cash prizes. TrackResults and SMOV both consider the evening to be a huge success.
