Powerful Photographs Capture the Realities of Breast Cancer Survival

Rethink Breast Cancer started as a way to reach out to young women battling breast cancer. While the disease usually strikes in older women, younger women face the disease too. The result is a young woman surrounded by older people while their friends are out enjoying their youth.

The SCAR Project aims to show the painful realities of women who have undergone treatment for breast cancer. These powerful portraits capture the beauty and pain of survivors in a moving collection.
