Why is This Principal Crying? The Answer Will Blow You Away!

For the New Hampshire-residing seniors of Profile Junior-Senior High School, it was a no-brainer.

Their principal, Courtney Vashaw had been diagnosed with a rare yet aggressive form of cancer called synovial sarcoma. They had $8,000 on hand—the product of four years worth of fundraising. It was money they’d planned to spend on their senior overnight trip to the Ridin-Hy Adirondack Ranch Resort in New York.

But they decided to cancel their trip and give that money to Vashaw instead.

“Every one of us has a connection with her, and she’s given so much to us that we just wanted to give back,” said Christopher Sirois, the seniors’ class president.

When the students told her about their decision, Vashaw was lost for words.  “I was just absolutely floored,” she told the local CBS news station. “I feel so honored, so touched. It’s absolutely astounding.”
