Promoting Breast Cancer Self-Exams & Early DetectionC. Kramer
In the United States, one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer. The Get In Touch Foundation promotes self breast exams and early detection. Sometimes, reaching younger women can be a challenge, so they’ve come up with an easy reminder.
In the following clip, you’ll hear from several people: a breast cancer survivor on how she’s trying to educate her children; Dr. Kristi Funk, Angelina Jolie’s medical doctor, who is promoting the importance of early detection; and Rob Lowe, who recently hosted a Get In Touch Foundation luncheon, and lost both his grandmother and mother to breast cancer. He talks about how inspired he is by the efforts of survivors, fundraisers, and doctors alike.
